I stumbled on this A-MAZ-ING Vivienne Westwood dress today on Net-A-Porter. She is incredible at creating modern and unique dresses that look really timeless. It would be fun to have something from her as a little fashion-y nod to Sean's punk music background, but that may be a pretty expensive nod. It still is really early to start on a dress, but since I am considering having it made, its never too early to fantasize! As some of you know, my main inpsiration is Leslie Caron in an American in Paris (except not so fairy-esque).

Speaking of fantasy, Aigh and I did a little dress and shoe fantasy time after enduring the most painful threading appointment of all time. We were innocently walking amongnst the pretty shoes and comparing the classic Chanel ballet flat versus the non traditional dark brown and blue flat when, like Moses parting the sea, the customers standing in front of the Alexander McQueen shoe display parted and the heavens shined their light on these:

What's that? You need a closer look at the toes? Granted!

Yes, my loves, those are hearts on the toes... oh and what's this?

YESSSSS... they DO come in pink. And yes, they are five inch heels so I would be FIVE FOOT EIGHT--a mere 5 inches shorter than Mr. Hunkerton. Okay, enough wedding dream land and off to Mario Kart land!
Get your lady friends to convince you that you are going to take questionable photos with the Easter Bunny and then have lunch at an inappropriately named restaurant while they actually spirit you away to Bel Air. Then lord your lovely ring over them. Hee hee.
I have loved this idea for centerpieces for a long time (okay, so I saved them waaaaaaaay before it was appropriate to do so). I am glad that we have a long time because it may be hard to track down this many tea and spice tins, but I love how casual and eclectic it is. If not, we could try au lait bowls. I also really love the idea of mixed flowers--no formal bouquets for us!

Oh and by the way, HOW AMAZING are these shoes? Just a thought. It would be like having disco balls on my feet, except fabulous and walkable.
Hunky and I have only been engaged for a little over a week and I am already going full speed ahead with super fun planning. Even though we are still just barely in the ideas stage, here are a couple themes that are starting to emerge...
1. Citrus
We're going through a yellow phase--we're both obsessing over having a lemony cake!

Hmmm... I wonder how we could translate this to my lovely lady friends?
Hmmmm... we'll have to see! Keep checking back and see what else I have been up to. There will be lots of crafty time, too--I've got 14 months to put this together and I am gonna use 'em all! Thanks for being a part of our special day!
Thoughts for the postings... what do Martha Gelhorn, An American in Paris and free champagne at Saks have have in common?
