Progress!

Actually,  a LOT of progress!  Sean and I sat down and talked about what was most important to us--simplicity, personality and fun.  Learning that Sun Valley would basically want us to give our first child over to pay for a place to stand was a blessing--when it comes down to it, its not really what we wanted anyway. So NOW this is what we are thinking about..

The Ceremony.
Every time we think about the guest list, we get a little nervous... we weren't sure if the places we were thinking about would be able to accommodate that many guests and also whether or not a large number of people at the ceremony would be the best idea.  Then we realized--most people prefer to just go the reception, so lets keep it simple Simon and have a small intimate ceremony for family and close friends (maybe just worded as family) and then have a big super fun party in Ketchum!

Soo... this is what we're hoping will be our location!  (TAH DAH!)
Senate Meadows is over by Galena Lodge in the SNRA.  Amazing, amazing, amazing! Here's a little ceremony visualization for you.

The Reception.

So then, after we're hitched it will be time to let loose!  Forest Service Park in Ketchum has so many great memories of friends and summer evenings so thats the direction we're headed in now.  What we're thinking is to have a super fun and casual reception from about 6-10PM with beer, wine, and a casual buffet and if people want to continue to festivities, we can dance on over to the lovely local spots in Ketchum (will Whiskeys be back?).  Also, people can have safe transport back to their respective hotels and homes.

More soon! Thanks for your patience, everyone!

Wowsah!

I super love this wedding. It is so happy! I had been looking for a great wedding to help me get my ideas together, and this is a lovely way to get started. The bride crafted most of the details and decor and even made her bouquet, which I love--plus, yay, Dad--its a great way to keep costs down! Now if I can just remain less than gainfully employed...

Color ideas.

I was clicking through my photo folders and these were all grouped together. They all work so nicely.... hmm....

Just a little bit of fabulous...

I stumbled on this A-MAZ-ING Vivienne Westwood dress today on Net-A-Porter. She is incredible at creating modern and unique dresses that look really timeless. It would be fun to have something from her as a little fashion-y nod to Sean's punk music background, but that may be a pretty expensive nod. It still is really early to start on a dress, but since I am considering having it made, its never too early to fantasize! As some of you know, my main inpsiration is Leslie Caron in an American in Paris (except not so fairy-esque).

Speaking of fantasy, Aigh and I did a little dress and shoe fantasy time after enduring the most painful threading appointment of all time. We were innocently walking amongnst the pretty shoes and comparing the classic Chanel ballet flat versus the non traditional dark brown and blue flat when, like Moses parting the sea, the customers standing in front of the Alexander McQueen shoe display parted and the heavens shined their light on these:

What's that? You need a closer look at the toes? Granted!

Yes, my loves, those are hearts on the toes... oh and what's this?

YESSSSS... they DO come in pink. And yes, they are five inch heels so I would be FIVE FOOT EIGHT--a mere 5 inches shorter than Mr. Hunkerton. Okay, enough wedding dream land and off to Mario Kart land!

This is how you celebrate.

Get your lady friends to convince you that you are going to take questionable photos with the Easter Bunny and then have lunch at an inappropriately named restaurant while they actually spirit you away to Bel Air. Then lord your lovely ring over them. Hee hee.

Fantasy time...

Okay so this totally isn't a wedding dress but maybe a rehearsal dinner deal? It makes me think of ice cream and sprinkles and is an example of "newer" vintage that I actually like. Really.

Oh and YES, those are some delightful 80's bows going up the back.

Oh my oh my!

Today I started to go through blogs and oh my! there is a lot of information. I guess I should be thanking the actors right now for making it easier for me to spend all day humming and hawing over all the various details of my wedding that don't exist yet. But, I'm trying to categorize it all according to blog and then by category. I love organization! Yay!
This is such a lovely and amazing wedding--and I love, love, LOVE the photography.

The site this came from is super amazing--I spent a lot of time on it today! Maybe a bit much...

Anyway, here is a great inspiration board for some of the colors and general feeling of the wedding.

I think we'll pass on all the heart stuff, though--Sean may just have a heart attack if I decorate the entire space with heart balloons.
